ASUS VivoBook S550CB Driver Download
ASUS VivoBook S550CB Driver Download, and Reviews– The dedicated graphics card gives you more power and allows you to play games without burning your CPU.
The VivoBook is heavy and has a poor screen resolution compared to other ultrabooks that are so powerful. This ultrabook almost reaches the top of our programming, but its poor screen resolution and other missing features are dragging it down.
With a powerful Core i5 processor and dedicated graphics card, the Asus VivoBook S550CB is close to becoming a replacement for a desktop computer with regard to raw power. Unfortunately, its low-resolution screen and short battery life make the ultrabook fall into some darker aspects, dragging it down on our side-by-side comparison. Its highlights are a touch screen, a fast hard drive, and the classic chassis Asus aluminum brushed, but it is difficult to justify the high price when missing some key features ultrabook.
In this ultra-thin laptop is a GeForce GT 740M GPU, which is comparable to what you will find the best ultrabooks. It is still a class 2 or mid-range graphics card, but you can use it to play many video games like “Borderlands 2” in the medium-sized settings with an HD resolution. This is better than more than half of the ultrabooks we analyzed.
The S550 is not a real ultrabook because of your hard drive. You can get a 500GB hard drive or move to a 1TB drive. These hard drives have moving parts, so the ultra thin S550 notebooks start slower than a solid state drive. Fortunately, Asus add a dedicated 24 GB SSD to accommodate the operating system and allow the computer to connect faster.
One feature that we would like to see change is the 1366 x 768 screen resolution is a 720p HD screen, but given the power and price of this machine, we hope to see a full-screen 1080p, especially since the S550 has a touch screen 15.6 inches. The touch screen gives you a desirable alternative to controlling Windows 8 applications via the metro desk instead of using a mouse or touchpad.
Asus now includes 32GB of storage for the free cloud with this ultrabook for three years. You can use one of three USB ports, one of which is a USB 3.0 port to connect additional devices and storage devices that you use. We like to see an HDMI port included with the configuration, as well as a VGA port if you want to connect older external monitors. You can also opt for a DVD player.
The Asus VivoBook S550CB lacks many features that would make a genuine ultrabook like a solid state drive and a long lasting battery. It removes these omissions with a class 2 graphics card dedicated and responsive touch screen. The finish on the outside of this ultrabook prevents jingling and bumps when you take it on the road. We love this ultra-thin notebook, but if you want more mobile resources and especially a better resolution of the screen, you should try one of our rated products.
